Oklahoma City, Feb. 8 (BUS): Klay Thompson scored 21 points, and the Golden State Warriors beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-98 on Monday night for their ninth straight win.
After Thunder rushed in late in the fourth quarter to cut Golden State’s lead to five, Thompson scored two of his 3-pointers — including one left for just over a minute — to put the Warriors up nine, the Associated Press reported.
Stephen Curry added 18 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds for the Warriors, who fired 50% from the field.
Low Dort scored 26 points and Darius Bazley scored a season-high with 20 points for Oklahoma City. Josh Gedi added 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Thunder took a 23-20 lead after a quarter before Golden State fired 14 from 23 shots per second to take a 56-46 lead at the break. Andrew Wiggins scored 13 of 15 points in the first half.
Jonathan Kominga’s disgusting jam early in the fourth inning drove the Golden State team to 87-74.
Oklahoma City continued the fight. In one possession, Thunder collected four attacking planks before Dort threw a powerful rebounding dip with both hands to trim Golden State’s lead to 95-83.
A mistake and stealing the ball by Jedi reduced the Golden State’s lead to 101-94, with less than three minutes remaining. Another throw by Giddey cut it to five before Thompson’s 3-shot pair. Curry punctuated the win with 3 turned around and went in the opposite direction before entering.
