Third West Asian Para Games –Bahrain -2022 to open on Sunday

Manama, February 18 (BNA) The third edition of the West Asian Games for Persons with Special Needs – Bahrain 2022 will officially open on Sunday at 7 pm at Arad Fort.

The opening ceremony will be sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The organization of the competition reflects Bahrain’s position as a destination for major sporting events, and its ability to host competitions.

He said, “The organizing committee led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Daij Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, worked closely with all committees to ensure the efficiency and success of the opening ceremony of the Third West Asian Games for Special Needs – Bahrain 2022,” Latifa Fakhro, Chairman of the Committee Media, Public Relations and Marketing.

She pointed out, “We chose Arad Fort as the location for the opening ceremony for many reasons, one of which is to highlight Bahrain’s diverse and rich history,” stressing the importance of linking sporting events with historical monuments.

She said that the opening ceremony will include speeches highlighting Bahrain’s hosting of the Asian regional championships and upcoming games, stressing the importance of promoting Paralympic sports.
