The Museum of the Future: A new beacon for knowledge and innovation

Dubai, Feb. 14 (BUS): Too often, we find ourselves wondering what the future might look like, envisioning a range of possibilities and questioning our place in tomorrow’s world. Today, the future is on the cusp of humanity, and the opportunity is here, because we believe the future is something we can design ourselves.

Dubai has created a one-of-a-kind hub, for visionaries, talents and great minds from all over the world to shape the future, it is the much awaited ‘Museum of the Future’, which will open its doors to the rest of the world. Around the World on February 22nd welcomes guests to embark on a journey into the year 2071.

From Dubai and the UAE to the rest of the world, the Museum of the Future is a “living museum” that aims to contribute to a profound intellectual movement, by connecting thinkers and experts from around the world and serving as a testing ground for future generations to create innovative solutions to the challenges facing society.

As described by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Museum of the Future is “the most beautiful building on earth.” It is an astonishing Arabic-speaking building, representing the revival of Arab excellence in the fields of science, mathematics and research, and a tribute to former Arab thinkers aiming for the resumption and renaissance of Arab civilization, Emirates News Agency (WAM).

At 77 meters above the ground, the stunning structure is an architectural marvel, built using robotic technology with a focus on sustainability. The building operates with a capacity of 4000 megawatts of solar energy. The column-free structure is home to seven unique and distinctive floors. For its visitors, the museum boasts an unparalleled window to experience the future in all its aspects and dimensions.

The Museum of the Future uses the latest technologies in virtual and augmented reality, data analysis, artificial intelligence and human-machine interaction. Answering the many questions regarding the future of humans, cities, societies and life on planet Earth and outer space, the Museum’s exhibits curate a world beyond human knowledge, providing visitors with innovative experiences unfolding across five different exhibits that explore the future of space travel and living, climate change, environment, health, wellness and spirituality.

Upon encountering unprecedented space technology and learning about humanity’s home in outer space, the visitor’s journey begins deep into our solar system. In honor of the Emirates Mars Exploration Project that saw the Hope Probe successfully enter Mars orbit last year, this exhibition completes a milestone for the UAE and the Arab world.

The museum experience encourages its visitors to participate in special missions, and unlike a traditional museum that displays parts of the past, it provides a gateway to the future, in a scientific attempt to explore its variables, potential challenges and expected characteristics.

The immersive experience will also see its visitors in an entirely new environment as they are reintroduced to planet Earth, the future of healing, sustainability and bioengineering technology. This part of the visitors’ journey reflects the UAE’s continuous work in the field of sustainability and environmental stability, and highlights the UAE’s position as one of the first countries to declare its commitment to achieving climate neutrality by 2050, and in honor of the country’s efforts in planning to achieve this. Hosting the 28th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) in Abu Dhabi in 2023.
