Berlin, Aug. 13 (BUS): Two teenagers helped Borussia Dortmund come back from behind with late goals to beat its host Freiburg 3-1 in the German Bundesliga on Friday.
All of Dortmund coach Eden Terzic’s substitutions paid off, as 18-year-old Jimmy Benno-Gettens tied in the 77th minute and 17-year-old Yusuf Mukoko tied the score 2-1, four minutes before Marius Wolf served. Alternative – to stamp the result in 88.
The Associated Press (AP) reported that this is the first time that three different players have scored as a substitute for Dortmund in a Bundesliga match.
France striker Anthony Modeste made his Dortmund debut after moving from Cologne on Monday, and defender Nico Schlutterbeek quickly returned to his former club.
But the visitors needed a stroke of luck as Freiburg goalkeeper Mark Let it be the rare mistake that allowed Dortmund to return to the game after Michael Gregorich gave the hosts the lead in the 35th minute.
