Tamkeen launches Aspire Initiative to support national workforce

Manama, April 10 (BNA): The Labor Fund “Tamkeen” announced the launch of the “Aspire” initiative. This initiative aims to support national cadres currently working in jobs that are not commensurate with their academic qualifications, by providing training programs to support their career advancement and promotion.

Tamkeen CEO Maha Movis confirmed that the initiative is in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to continue supporting human capital development.

She stressed Tamkeen’s commitment to implementing national priorities and enhancing opportunities for the national workforce while supporting their career advancement, through continuous partnership with the private sector.

Movis added that the “Aspire” initiative aims to provide direct support to increase the impact on career growth and help citizens acquire specialized job opportunities that are in line with their qualifications.

She stated that institutions that aim to develop and promote employees who meet the eligibility criteria can benefit from this initiative by increasing wage support for a period of two years. The employees must have worked in the organization for at least one year, and their salary must be less than 600 Bahraini dinars with a promotion increase of at least 20% of the employee’s current salary.

CE added that the benefits also include 100% training support when linked directly to the promotion. This initiative aims to support the development of Bahraini employees, subject to Tamkeen’s approval of the career development plan set by the institution for each employee.

Applications will be opened on Tamkeen’s online portal through the Train & Grow Program starting from April 11, 2023.

Tamkeen’s “Train and Grow” program is a pioneering program that supports companies looking to develop their human capital. It helps to enhance the performance of individuals and organizations through available opportunities in technical training, professional qualifications and emerging skills. In addition, the program provides pay increases for 18 months or two years, depending on the support pathway.

This initiative is in line with Tamkeen’s efforts to provide support to institutions committed to developing their human capital as part of the strategic objectives of the Labor Fund for this year, which focus on four main priorities: facilitating increased economic participation of Bahrainis, providing training that is in line with labor market needs in new and emerging skills, As well as the development of institutions and the ecosystem, all of which lead to a positive economic impact and sustainable growth.
