New York, July 13 (BNA) Minister of Sustainable Development Noor bint Ali Al-Khalif stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations.
This came during a meeting with the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Abdullah Shahid. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the minister’s participation in a high-level political forum on sustainable development held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The Minister of Sustainable Development indicated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen the strategic partnership with the United Nations to implement the development goal. She affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
For his part, the President of the United Nations General Assembly praised the constructive cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations to achieve the goals of the international organization in various fields. He praised the prominent role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting security, stability and peace in the region and achieving sustainable development goals. He also praised the Kingdom’s efforts in combating the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic and providing treatment and vaccines for all members of society.
