Sustainable Development Minister holds discussions with UAE, Egypt, Jordan

New York, July 15 (BNA) Minister of Sustainable Development Nour Bint Ali Al-Khalif held joint talks with the delegations of the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The meetings were held on the sidelines of her participation in the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York.

The Minister of Sustainable Development, Director-General of the Office of the Prime Minister, met with the Vice-Chairman of the National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals, Abdullah Nasser Lootah. She stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in terms of exchanging experiences and developing capabilities to achieve the goals of the comprehensive development process and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. She congratulated the UAE government on the success of the Voluntary National Review (VNR). For the second time, he pointed out that this success is a reflection of the achievements made in various fields.

Al-Khalif praised the cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE, which reflects the importance of strengthening regional and international cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals and benefit from the UAE experience in this field.

For his part, the Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals expressed his appreciation for strengthening cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain to benefit from specialized programs in capacity development and exchange of experiences on sustainable growth. He praised Bahrain’s great interest in achieving the sustainable development goals, praising its achievements since submitting its first virtual national report.

The Minister of Sustainable Development also met with the Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed. She stressed the depth of the historical relations between the two brotherly countries and the common interest in strengthening bilateral relations in various fields.

The two sides discussed enhancing cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals through joint programs and projects.

For her part, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed praised the strong relations between the two countries, stressing the keenness to enhance joint cooperation and exchange experiences to achieve the goals of sustainable development.

The Minister of Sustainable Development also met with the Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Nasser Al-Shraideh, and discussed with him joint cooperation in the field of sustainable development. It congratulated the Jordanian government on the success of the voluntary national review for the second time during the high-level political forum on the sustainable development goals held in New York.

Al-Khalif praised the advanced experiences of the Jordanian government in implementing the sustainable development goals and the United Nations 2030 Agenda. She stressed the importance of benefiting from this distinguished experience in developing national capabilities and highlighting Bahrain’s efforts and achievements in achieving sustainable development. For his part, the Jordanian minister praised the constructive cooperation between the two brotherly countries, stressing the importance of exchanging experiences in preparing international reports on indicators of sustainable development.
