Supreme Council for Women; Central Bank of Bahrain discuss cooperation

Manama, June 13 (BNA) The member of the Supreme Council for Women and Chairperson of the Women’s Committee in Financial Technology, Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, held a working meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Rashid Mohammed Al-Maraj.

The two sides discussed ways of cooperation to increase the presence of Bahraini women in the field of financial technology in line with the directions of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women and the Strategy for the Development of the Financial Services Sector 2022-2026 previously announced. The Central Bank of Bahrain as one of the five basic strategies in the economic recovery plan.

Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa shed light on the Women’s Financial Technology Committee since its formation at the end of 2020, along with the mechanism of its implementation plan that focuses on four axes: policies, service development, guidance, guidance and education, and knowledge management.

During the meeting, she praised the qualitative initiatives of the Central Bank of Bahrain to support the committee’s work.

Al-Maraj praised the work of the committee, which represents one of the important tools to enhance the presence of Bahraini women in the financial and banking sector and one of the channels of effective cooperation in this field between the Central Bank of Bahrain and the Supreme Council for Women. .

He affirmed the bank’s support for the committee’s work, stressing its readiness to integrate the outputs of its work into plans to develop the financial and banking services sector as a whole, amid digital transformation through the expansion of the financial technology sector.
