Roles and Responsibilities
Executing the strategic agenda of the structural design function to ensure that the developed design is in accordance with the client’s vision and mission.
Directs contractor and consultants to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.
Build and lead the integrated design process by defining design values and goals, managing the performance of the lead engineer or contractor, and providing ongoing feedback to meet functional challenges and goals.
Assist in monitoring and evaluating the estimated cost of design development related to structural design activities by identifying areas of unsatisfactory performance, and capitalized performance improvement opportunities.
Develop client structural work plans including structural analysis and design methods to ensure effective and efficient translation of client operational vision.
Evaluate and estimate the capabilities of the service provider/consultant to select qualified and cost-effective service providers/consultants in line with the client’s criteria.
Oversee and ensure that detailed feedback is provided on the consultant and service provider documentation at all stages of the project from initial design to implementation, in order to ensure that all efforts are aligned and projects are aligned with client standards and overall objectives.
Implement rigorous and effective value engineering and scope management techniques to achieve expected budgets and required project hitch rates without losing quality and design intent.
Monitor coordination structural design stages by coordinating the design process with other disciplines in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with client policies and procedures and project-specific approvals from management.
Report on project status and design progress to the Design Manager, particularly in relation to cost control.
Monitor progress and completion of structural aspects of projects through the development lifecycle to ensure that design integrity is maintained throughout the project.
Ensures international standards and codes (eg buildings, health, safety, quality, etc.) are in place in all structural aspects of projects.
Coordinate with related functions to ensure that the structural aspect of all projects is planned and implemented in accordance with environmental and sustainability standards.
qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
– MSc in Structural Engineering (preferred),
At least 15 to 18 years of relevant experience with 4 years in a management position,
PMC and project management experience.
