We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Vendor Manager to help create a best-in-class experience for the retail categories. Responsibilities include managing the full scope of the category and seller portfolio, building and maintaining strategic relationships with key global manufacturers and suppliers, improving the overall Amazon customer experience, and helping to shape the evolution of how customers online shop for these categories. We are looking for an enthusiastic client and category advocate within Amazon, with proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, strong attention to detail, ability to effectively prioritize and multitask, and a proven track record of driving category growth. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail, a high level of flexibility and commitment, and the ability to recruit and develop a high-performance team.

Customer focus
Evaluate products and services to constantly improve the quality of customer experience
· Collects and climbs industry trends. Ensures the team prioritizes customer obsession
Identifies opportunities to differentiate our customers’ experience from the competition

strategy
Develops and implements action plans based on deep analysis of product line metrics
Recommends business opportunities and long-term strategy for multiple subcategories

Vendor Management
Expands the choice of existing sellers and secures the choice of a new brand
Focuses on strategic exception or challenge sellers to increase choice
Leads strategic negotiations to achieve growth in both the upper and lower income categories
Builds long-term relationships through value creation, growth opportunities, customer acquisition, and brand building for multiple sellers
Increase vendor engagement through deep knowledge of program opportunities

Inventory Management
Manage stock availability and stock health including: stock optimization, stock planning, vendor operational optimization (efficiency, fill rates, lead time), regular forecasting, and improving efficiency with vendors and within fulfillment centers.
Driving tools and process improvements that affect procurement and supplier management workflows.

business operations
Digs into input and understands the ultimate impact of changes in pricing, selection and fitness for multiple subcategories
Owns retail profits and losses for multiple subcategories; Develops plans that drive revenue and margin improvement for business
Audit all elements of a business with multiple subcategories
· Identify areas needing vendor attention and direct the team to address issues. Serves as an escalation point, helping the team and supplier(s) resolve disputes
Creates long-term class solutions that automate or simplify class operations
Works with internal technical teams, cross-sectional and technical teams to make multi-system process changes

Holds the team accountable for achieving business goals
Establishes and articulates expectations about the team’s leadership behavior. Behavior models that embody leadership principles
· Effectively coaches and provides feedback to direct reports to help develop talent and support career development

Basic qualifications
· Bachelor degree. 10+ years of relevant experience in retail and operations with a proven track record of delivering negotiations and delivering results.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects across functional teams, including technical, engineering, marketing, design and merchandising teams
· Strong leader with excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills. Ability to operate successfully and influence at all levels across Amazon
Independence and flexibility
A range of accomplished skills from high-level strategic thinking to creative and articulated team leadership
Analytical approach to problem solving and a track record of driving results through continuous improvement
Efficiency in utilizing precious resources
Indirect experience of leading work teams and projects
Extreme attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

qualifications preferred
Ability to think and interact in a high-energy, fast-paced experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotions, inventory management, and product development.
Advanced experience with Excel, or other analytics/business intelligence tools.
