Special Envoy for Climate Affairs receives COP26 Regional Ambassador

Manama, September 28 (BNA) Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak bin Dina, the Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and CEO of the Supreme Council for the Environment, received today the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2021, the regional ambassador. For the Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Janet Rogan, and UK Ambassador to Bahrain Rudy Drummond.

Dr. Bin Dina praised the long-standing friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom in various fields, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to participate in the twenty-sixth session of the Conference of Parties (COP26) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), which will be held in Glasgow in November, and plays an active role in unifying international visions on ways to address environmental challenges and climate change in order to produce positive results that will contribute to environmental protection.

Ambassador Rogan expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the Kingdom to reduce the effects of climate change at the local and international levels, through its comprehensive vision and environmental legislation that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.

She praised the various programs and activities of the authority, highlighting Bahrain’s good positions in various environmental forums.

She wished the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity in all fields.

Ambassador Drummond praised the strong relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom and cooperation in various fields, especially the environment, stressing the importance of the Kingdom’s participation in this event, given its experience in enhancing cooperation and coordination, as well as its ability to contribute to its success in the future.
