Manama, September 15 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal stressed the depth of the distinguished Bahraini-Chinese friendly relations that have been steadily strengthened thanks to the good relations between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. And Chinese President Xi Jinping in order to serve common interests.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives made the remarks during an extensive meeting she held with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Li Zhanshu, where they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in various fields.
Zeinal praised the role played by the two friendly countries in achieving security, stability and development in the region and the world, as well as their continuous endeavor to exchange expertise and legislative experiences, which contributes to the development of the legal structure supporting various issues. Especially with regard to settling disputes and conflicts in the region by peaceful and diplomatic means, rejecting violence and extremism, and combating terrorism.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed the growing interest of the legislative authority in Bahrain in strengthening relations between the Kingdom and China.
She highlighted the important agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries, expressing her hope to extend the mutual exemption agreement for diplomatic, service and special passport holders from visas to include all citizens.
The spokeswoman called on her Chinese counterpart to brief her on Bahrain’s business-friendly atmosphere, noting that Bahrain welcomes Chinese investments in all fields.
The two sides exchanged invitations to visit mutual parliamentary delegations to pave the way for the two countries to achieve more rapprochement, cooperation and coordination.
They discussed parliamentary efforts to strengthen bilateral economic, trade and investment relations, based on advanced Chinese industrial production and export on the one hand, and Bahrain’s distinguished characteristics, including its advanced financial center, attractive and safe investment climate, and a free and open economy. And its distinguished strategic location, in addition to its incentives for investors, in terms of fair legislation, and various facilities and services, on the other hand.
The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China valued the Kingdom’s role in achieving peace and stability for the peoples of the region, thanks to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, and the efforts made by His Royal Highness the Emir. Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, expressing his constant readiness to make all efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries.
He stressed that efforts are being made to encourage Chinese companies to increase their investments in Bahrain, and to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, energy, infrastructure and e-commerce.
He reiterated China’s firm position in rejecting all forms of foreign interference in Bahrain, or encroaching on its sovereignty, under the pretext of democratic or human rights practices, stressing China’s support for the Kingdom in everything that serves its security and stability.
