Speaker: National report on gender balance reflects royal support, SCW professionalism

Manama, October 25 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal praised the National Gender Balance Report (2019-2020), which showed an increase in the gender balance index in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 65% (2017-2018) to 69% (2019- 2020). The report also showed an increase in the gender balance index in key national development areas from 70% to 73% in the same period. The Corporate Performance Index also increased from 59% to 65%.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives confirmed that the positive results were achieved thanks to the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the professionalism of the Supreme Council for Women. She also commended the government’s keenness, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support the advancement of Bahraini women and to integrate their needs and strategic plans into the government’s action plan.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the efforts and directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Women, which were reflected in the report’s findings. She affirmed the Parliament’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women to serve Bahraini women and meet their needs and aspirations.
