Abu Dhabi, February 2 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal stressed the unique and distinct nature of the deep-rooted Bahraini-Emirati relations established by the founding fathers between the rulers of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. The Emirates reached its climax during the reigns of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
She added that the long-term relations were based on solid foundations of mutual love and cooperation in the political, economic, security, social, cultural and development fields, and culminated in joint development projects and joint work thanks to the firm care of the elderly. She stressed that Bahrain and the UAE are one country, with a common destiny and strong brotherly relations that are reflected in their unity and solidarity under all circumstances and in the face of all challenges, to become a role model in relations between countries. The intensive meetings and visits of its leaders and officials reflect their keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination between them to better serve their brotherly peoples.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Zainal, condemned, in the strongest terms, these terrorist crimes that violate international conventions, target innocent civilians, and endanger the security of the region and international interests. It renewed the Kingdom’s firm position in support of the United Arab Emirates, and its support for all measures it deems necessary to defend its lands and maintain the security of its citizens and residents.
She praised the recent four-way summit in Abu Dhabi, which included Bahraini, Emirati and Egyptian leaders, noting that it affirms the importance of coordination in order to come up with unified positions towards Arab issues and peace in the region and to combat all. forms of terrorism and extremism.
She stressed the importance of parliamentary positions in supporting regional security and stability, and called on the international community to assume its responsibility in achieving stability and security for societies and combating terrorism, violence and extremism. In this regard, she stressed that the Bahraini-Emirati parliamentary cooperation is growing steadily in light of the keenness of the legislative authorities in the two countries to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields.
The head and members of the Bahraini delegation expressed their thanks and appreciation to the president and members of the UAE Federal National Council for the warm reception and hospitality, in addition to their tireless efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries in the parliamentary field.
The Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates welcomed the Speaker of the House of Representatives and her accompanying delegation, stressing that the current stage proves the depth of brotherly relations between the two countries and their common destiny and similar interests at all levels.
He stressed the keenness of the UAE Federal National Council to enhance cooperation with the Bahraini Parliament in various fields, including joint cooperation in regional and international parliamentary forums.
He also referred to the desire of the UAE Federal National Council to fully activate the memoranda of understanding and cooperation signed with the Bahraini Parliament, as well as to launch a new phase in which the two sides launch joint programs and initiatives.
