Speaker affirms support for initiatives aimed at implementing royal directives to improve citizens’ living standards

Manama, Jan. 10 (BNA): The Council of Representatives today held its fifth session of the first session of the sixth legislative term, headed by Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam.

The spokesman praised the national initiatives launched to translate the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to improve the standard of living of Bahraini families.

In this regard, the Muslim Speaker of Parliament expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for directing His Highness to disburse an additional month of financial support to families with limited incomes. for global inflation.

His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister included setting urgent plans and procedures to fix prices and ensure the availability of goods, the temporary suspension of industrial land fees for food storage facilities for a period of three months, and the temporary suspension of approvals and fees required by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for supermarkets to conduct promotional campaigns for a period of three months, in addition to To increase monitoring and inspection of local market prices.

Al-Musallam affirmed the Parliament’s support for those directives, and its keenness to enhance constructive cooperation with the government in all that aims to meet the needs of citizens and improve their living conditions.

The Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, Counselor Rashid Muhammad Bu Nijma, said in a statement after the session that the House transmitted a letter addressed to it from His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister regarding a draft law regarding the ratification of the air. The Transportation and Ports Agreement between Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, attached to Decree (3) for the year 2023, of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee, as well as the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee.

The session also approved the request of the committee charged with studying the government’s action plan (2023-2026) to extend its work for an additional six days, starting from January 9.

The Council also approved the report of the Services Committee in Decree-Law No. (31) of 2022 regarding the amendment of some provisions of Decree-Law No. (6) of 1991 regarding the establishment of a retirement fund for Bahraini and non-Bahraini employees and employees. The Bahrain Defense Force and the Public Security Force and the amendment of some provisions of Decree-Law No. (47) of 2010 regarding the management and functions of the retirement fund for Bahraini and non-Bahraini employees in the Bahrain Defense Force and Public Security. The session also approved the report of the same committee regarding Decree-Law No. (33) of 2022 amending some provisions of Decree-Law (15) of 1986 regarding the regulation of tourism and Law (62) of 2006 regarding the establishment and organization of Bahraini tourism and exhibitions. Authority.

The meeting also approved the Public Utilities and Environment report on Decree-Law No. (32) of 2022 amending some provisions of several decrees regulating the laws of buildings, urban planning and the division of plots of land allocated for construction and development.
