South Korea confirms another highly pathogenic bird flu case

Seoul, Jan. 16 (BNA): South Korea on Sunday reported another case of highly pathogenic bird flu at a duck farm in the country’s southwest.

South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported that the farm is raising about 33,000 ducks in Yeongam, 384 kilometers south of Seoul.

It represents the 21st case of highly pathogenic avian influenza that was found in poultry farms this winter.

The government has alerted local poultry farm owners to the recent increase in bird flu outbreaks, urging them to monitor their farms and immediately report any suspected symptoms.

Highly contagious avian influenza is highly contagious among birds and can cause severe illness and death, especially among poultry.
