Role description

Solution Expert provides high level strategic sales cycle support on product/LoB specific solutions
– In focused solution/LoB segments, responsible for demand generation, solution creation/LoB pipeline strategies and development of scale initiatives resulting in increased solutions/LoB pipeline and revenue and elevating SAP leadership position in the LoB solution/segment
Leverages solution expertise to ensure critical and innovative business outcomes for both software and cloud environments across industry and customer segments.
– Demonstrates our competitive advantage for clients and prospects
Responsible for delivering results
Executes functional business plans for the LoB/solution segment and integrates functional and financial objectives
– May represent SAP externally and internally on specific LoB solution/sector topics

Expectations and tasks

Zone 1

– Identify, develop and implement targeted sales opportunities. Act as a lead expert on SAP solutions/LoB portfolio and act as a key channel between Solutions Management, Global and Regional LoB/ISG and field sales organizations to oversee, influence and track implementation of key LoB/solutions field sales priorities.

Zone 2

Lead and implement GTM plans for Solution/LoB; Contribute and validate high quality business plans that clearly articulate the Solution/LoB strategy, GTM activities and key implementation steps.
This can include areas such as: enablement, launch, scaling, solution strategy and implementation, pricing, investment cases, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic partnership.
Demonstrate the ability to provide the customer with a roadmap from the current IT environment to the cloud environment

Zone 3

Take a leadership role in devising solutions strategies in targeted sales cycles; Drive solution/LoB credibility to influence what markets think of SAP solution offerings.
Develop comprehensive strategies to engage partners in areas such as business development, bulk solution development, and solutions/LoB cross-selling.
Tactical package sales propositions tailored to a specific target segment and positioning – taking into account product lifecycle and approval.
Acting as a trusted advisor to clients; A role model for SAP values. Help clients become the best business in their industry.

Tasks

Deliver standardized approaches to value-based sales activities on Focus/LoB solutions.
– Empowering the field and supporting the start of new field training; Conduct in-class training for specific solutions/Lobs and contribute to e-learning content.
Provide on-demand access to the specific expertise of a LoB/solution; Dealing with clients on a case by case basis.

work experience

Professional experience with large, multinational software/IT organizations with proven experience in at least one Solution/LoB sector (eg through solutions management, sales, consulting or business development roles)
SAP product experience and/or 8-15 years prior to relevant solutions/LoB experience. Knowledge of working with the cloud in a B2B environment
Working knowledge of cloud, hosted services, SaaS/PaaS models, and cloud-based commerce/business networks
– Seen as a LoB solution/expert over SAP, capable of leveraging extensive network on behalf of SAP resulting in pipeline and revenue growth
– Successful track record in the chosen solution/LoB area
– Customer Facing Experience

Education and qualification / skills and competencies

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required, MBA or equivalent required from an accredited university preferred
– Fluency in English, any other language is an asset
– Fluency in local market language desirable.
