We are looking for Software Development Engineers to be based in Amman, Jordan with over a year of solid software engineering experience involving complex problem solving, to work on some of the key initiatives planned to support our rapid development and growth of Amazon’s international expansion business. And in the meantime, we solve some of the toughest problems. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer.

basic tasks

One year of industry experience designing software engineering and operating scalable software systems
Requirements analysis, failure analysis, API design, distributed consistency
Distributed caching (memcached, Redis or similar technology)
Metrics, analysis and software profiling
Strong object-oriented design skills with an understanding of common design paradigms
Experience with Java or other object-oriented languages ​​- preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform including the internal JVM or equivalent minimum implementation level
Experience with distributed (multi-level) systems, algorithms and relational databases
Experience with system and system unit level tests using dependency injection frameworks and object mockery
Experience in the mathematics of optimization (linear programming, nonlinear optimization)
Oral and written communication skills (ability to produce operating manuals and technical and non-technical documents)
Experience in training junior software development engineers including code review and design review
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

Basic qualifications

qualifications preferred

Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java preferably on UNIX or Linux)
Ability to effectively formulate and drive solutions to meet technical and commercial challenges
– deal well with ambiguous / undefined problems; The ability to think abstractly
Experience working with product vision leadership to deliver long-term value to clients and advertisers
Willingness to own all phases of the development process: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and operational support
Excellent personal communication with strong verbal/written English language skills
