The minister made these statements during his participation in the meeting held with the United Nations CEDAW Committee.
Minister Al-Asfour praised the Kingdom’s keenness to engage in constructive dialogue with the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, and to continue fulfilling its international commitments, especially with regard to implementing strategies for the advancement of women.
He praised the distinguished presentation video of the Kingdom’s delegation headed by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Muhammad Jaber Al-Ansari, before the CEDAW Committee, especially with regard to issues related to the competencies of the Ministry of Social Development, including the efforts made to unite everyone. aspects of social security.
He affirmed the keenness of the Ministry of Social Development to continue strengthening all forms of cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women to ensure the steady advancement of Bahraini women and enhance their competitiveness as an indispensable partner on an equal footing in the Kingdom’s development process, and to highlight the Kingdom’s experience in integrating women. needs and equal opportunities.
