Social Development Minister praises success of 4th national CEDAW report discussion

Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA): Minister of Social Development, Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, stressed the pivotal role played by Bahraini women in the comprehensive development of the Kingdom, thanks to the great support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The minister made these statements during his participation in the meeting held with the United Nations CEDAW Committee.


Minister Al-Asfour praised the Kingdom’s keenness to engage in constructive dialogue with the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, and to continue fulfilling its international commitments, especially with regard to implementing strategies for the advancement of women.


He praised the distinguished presentation video of the Kingdom’s delegation headed by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Muhammad Jaber Al-Ansari, before the CEDAW Committee, especially with regard to issues related to the competencies of the Ministry of Social Development, including the efforts made to unite everyone. aspects of social security.
