Social Development Minister chairs FMH meeting

Manama, June 1 (BNA): Minister of Social Development, Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Family Microfinance House, presided over the second meeting of the Bank’s Board of Directors.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Khaled Ateeq, Chief Executive Officer, and members of the Board of Directors.

The meeting discussed the global financial union performance report, financial statements, risk management and corporate governance report for the first quarter of 2023, and the minutes of the last meeting were also approved.

The meeting reviewed ways to sustain the development projects and services provided by the Foundation, and emphasized taking all administrative measures that contribute to the efficient performance of its role.

The minister stressed the importance of providing the best sustainable development practices by applying the concepts of social economy.

He praised the federation’s efforts to achieve progressive results, and stressed its keenness to consolidate cooperation with the relevant authorities to finance micro-enterprises.
