SMC’s Accident and Emergency Department expansion project inaugurated 

Manama, Jan. 24 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister and President of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. Khalifa, the accident and emergency department opened today at the Salmaniya Medical Complex after the completion of the expansion project.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila Al-Sayyed Jawad Hassan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Governmental Hospitals, Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, and the Chief Executive Officer of Governmental Hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Al-Ansari.

The Chairman of the Council praised the sound directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He also praised all those in charge of the large project, which reflects the interest of the Kingdom and its government in developing the health sector, in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty the King.

He expressed his pride in opening the pioneering project aimed at improving the quality of health services provided at the Sulaymaniyah Medical Complex.

The Minister of Health affirmed that the opening of the project adds to the government’s initiatives to improve health services in the Kingdom, praising the efforts of medical competencies in the Kingdom to develop health strategies and ensure the provision of comprehensive, sustainable and high-quality services in Bahrain. .

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Governmental Hospitals affirmed that the success of the service and development project reflects the government’s firm interest in citizens, which is the ultimate goal of the development process.

He also affirmed the constant keenness of the Board of Trustees of government hospitals to develop the services provided to citizens and residents.

The CEO of government hospitals confirmed that the opening of the project represents a qualitative leap in the service provided to citizens and residents in the Kingdom, indicating that the expansion includes raising the capacity of beds from 80 beds to 120 beds, in addition to 7 consultations. room, 15 recovery rooms, 5 classification rooms, 3 treatment rooms, as well as a separate pediatric unit and a waiting area for 120 people.

Dr. Al-Ansari pointed out that the accident and emergency department at the Sulaymaniyah Medical Center is one of the centers of excellence in government hospitals, as it receives great attention and top priority within the strategic plans, because of its pivotal role in meeting the medical needs of patients. Which reaches 1300 patients per day.
