sign statement on establishing diplomatic relations

New York, June 2 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain and the independent state of Papua New Guinea signed today a joint statement regarding the establishment of diplomatic relations between them, based on their common desire to develop peaceful relations of friendship and cooperation between them. Political, economic, commercial, cultural and other areas of common interest, in accordance with the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.


The statement was signed at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations here, by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Jamal Fares Al-Ruwaie, and the Permanent Representative of the State of Papua New. Guinea to the United Nations, Ambassador Max Hovanen Ray.
