Manama, February 9 (BNA) The Speaker of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, issued a decision to form the Gender Balance Committee in the General Secretariat of the Council, headed by the Advisor for Relations, Media and Research Affairs, Dr. Fawzia Yousef Al-Jib. And the membership of seven employees from the General Secretariat.
The first article stipulated replacing the name of the Equal Opportunities Committee with the Gender Balance Committee in the General Secretariat of the Shura Council.
The rest of the articles included the objectives of forming the committee and its terms of reference in order to achieve the integration of women’s needs in all areas of work in the council, and to achieve gender balance among all workers in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women’s Affairs. Women (SCW).
The members of the committee are the Assistant Secretary-General for Resources and Information Technology, Karima Muhammad Al-Abbasi, the Director of the Information and Communications Technology Department, Abeer Abdullah Al-Obaidli, the Director of the Relations and Media Department, Youssef Yaqoub Marhoon, and the Director of the Procurement and Services Department. Abdul Majeed Ali Bouhassain, Legal Counsel Mayada Majid Maarij, Director of Human and Financial Resources Mohamed Adel Jamil, and Quality Supervisor Noura Mohamed Al-Najjar.
The Chairperson of the Committee expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Speaker of the Shura Council and the Secretary General of the Shura Council, Counselor Osama Ahmed Al-Asfour, for their constant support for the principle of equal opportunities and gender balance in the General Secretariat.
