Shura Chairman praises role of Bahrain press

Al-Manama, June 19 (BNA) The Speaker of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, stressed the duties of the multinational Bahraini newspapers and their influential role in supporting democratic practices and enhancing freedom of opinion and expression. He pointed to the great interest and support given by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to freedom of expression since the launch of the royal reform project.

In a statement on the occasion of the announcement of the winners of the sixth cycle of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, which was held in a ceremony held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy King, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Speaker of the Shura Council expressed his pride in the support provided by His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister to the Bahraini press. He praised the keenness of His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister to deepen the role of local newspapers in spreading social awareness of the government’s programs and initiatives, and the success achieved by ministries and institutions in promoting the Kingdom’s growth and development.
