Cairo, February 19 (BNA) Shura Council Speaker Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh affirmed that the firm approach of the Kingdom of Bahrain is based on supporting all forms of joint Arab cooperation and solidarity, as expressed by His Majesty the King. The vision of Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in supporting all efforts aimed at strengthening joint Arab action in a manner that preserves the security and stability of Arab countries.
He stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to develop relations, exchange experiences with Arab countries, and coordinate Arab positions in all international forums.
Al-Saleh’s statements came during a speech he delivered at the fourth conference of the Arab House of Representatives for the heads of Arab councils and parliaments, which was held today at the headquarters of the League of Arab States. A delegation from the Shura Council, headed by Al-Saleh, participated in the conference.
The Speaker of the Shura Council stressed the importance of achieving security, peace and stability, which is the main focus of the conference, noting that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister supports all efforts aimed at strengthening The pillars of security and peace in the region, in light of the challenges facing the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council due to the continuous external interference aimed at undermining their security, stability and national gains.
He strongly condemned and denounced the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia and the UAE, calling for concerted Arab efforts to reach a comprehensive solution to the Yemeni crisis, according to the relevant references. Preserving Yemen’s unity, sovereignty and independence, and putting an end to interference in its internal affairs.
Al-Saleh called for expanding the frameworks of Arab solidarity, enhancing cooperation in all political issues, and coming up with unified stances that preserve the security, stability and prosperity of all Arab countries, stressing the importance of affirming Arab stances on various issues. Issues of common interest, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, and full support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, according to the two-state solution, and on the basis of the Arab Peace Initiative. He pointed out that the political and economic challenges that the Arab region is currently witnessing require comprehensive and sustainable solutions that achieve the interests of the Arab countries, noting that the Arab countries are looking forward to the Arab summit scheduled to be held in Algeria.
He stressed that the Fourth Conference of Arab Parliament Speakers of the Arab Parliament confirms the importance of strengthening Arab parliamentary diplomacy to deepen the fruitful cooperation between Arab parliaments.
Al-Saleh expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Assoumi, for the tremendous efforts he is making to strengthen Arab parliamentary relations.
