Manama, February 17 (BNA): Shura Council Speaker Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh congratulated Dr. Fatima Al-Kooheji, a member of the Shura Council, on her election as chairperson of the Women and Child Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union. The meeting of the committee, which was held within the framework of the 32nd Conference of the Federation in Cairo.
The Speaker of the Shura Council described the elections as a reflection of Dr. Kooheji’s tireless efforts to develop legislation aimed at enhancing the rights and achievements of women and children. He also emphasized its contribution to supporting women’s and children’s issues at the local and Arab levels. He pointed out that this achievement is an addition to the record of Bahraini women’s achievements at the regional and international levels.
