Shaikh Rashid opens Beyond Measure Art Exhibition

Manama, September 26 (BNA) Filipino Creators Bahrain won a great success in organizing the exhibition “Beyond Measure: Reflections of Asian Art”.

The exhibition was inaugurated last week by the President of the National Council of Arts and Honorary President of the Bahrain Society of Arts Sheikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Chargé d’Affairs of the Philippine Embassy Anne Gallando-on-Louis.

The special event at Bahrain Financial Harbor was organized by Filipino innovators under the auspices of the Embassy of the Philippines in Manama.

Filipino Creative Bahrain represents a unit of around 42 artists in diverse and vibrant art galleries.

In her message, Ann Gallando-on-Louis congratulated Filipino Creators Bahrain for organizing another successful art exhibition that includes a range of physical visual arts presented by prominent Bahraini and Asian expatriate artists.

Exploring a deeper meaning of belonging and relationships through the abstract artworks of painting, sculptor, installation, fabric and digital art display of 120 exhibited art pieces that showcase the diverse and fascinating talents of artists of different Asian nationalities.

Participating artists include a nine-year-old Chinese, Mira Ma Baumholtz, and 12-year-old Hua Aya Ferhina, from Indonesia.

“I am happy to see the Filipino community come together as one family and support each other,”

Chief Innovator Filipino Bahrain J. Revorzo said.

“We have a lot of undiscovered talent out there, so for me, this is the time to showcase our talents, acknowledge each other’s accomplishments and show support for each other.”

Also on display are artworks by his son Eros, 19, and daughter Faith, 17.

He said, “When the two were still young, they really loved the arts. They expressed what they felt and exchanged the messages they wanted through art. I can only advise them that art is freedom, it has no limits.”

The opening of the exhibition, which will run until September 29, was attended by about 150 guests.
