As part of SENER’s growth plans in the Middle East region, we are currently looking for an experienced Design Engineer – Water Infrastructure (Wet Utilities).
This person will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing SENER’s reputation with its clients, developing effective long-term relationships with clients and thus identifying and developing new opportunities for the group in the region. It will be supported by a strong and experienced engineering team dedicated to water infrastructure, mainly based at SENER’s headquarters in Spain.
responsibilities
• Providing design solutions related to wet facilities such as irrigation, drinking water, sewage, rain water and underground drainage networks.
• Preparing conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs with tender and contract documents for master plan, transportation and highway projects
• Produce reports, graphics, calculations and presentations
• Preparing engineering accounts, bills of quantity, estimates, surveys and designs.
• Designing general arrangements, layouts, plans and features related to wet facilities.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets and other construction documents.
• Advise and provide engineering solutions to clients and stakeholders.
• Submit designs to local authorities and follow up to obtain approvals.
• Provides technical guidance to CAD designers, vapers, and other engineers.
qualifications:
• Minimum of 12-15 years of graduate/postgraduate experience in infrastructure engineering design.
• MMUP Grade A Civil Engineer registered in Qatar.
• Experienced in hydraulic design and modeling of gravity and pressure networks for all wet infrastructure facilities – sewage, potable water, damaged sewage and treated wastewater.
• Experienced in preparing specifications and consulting with suppliers for sewage treatment plants, water tanks and pumping stations.
• Previous experience building network models using specific software (eg SWMM, EPANET, Infoworks, MicroDrainage, Civil 3D)
• Previous experience with ArcGIS (ESRI) is preferred.
• Previous experience in BIM preferred.
• Extensive computer skills and knowledge (AutoCAD and MS Office suite).
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, project management and design teams.
• Good spoken and written English is essential.
