Due to the exponential growth that is happening, we currently have an opportunity for a senior urban designer/planner to work on a multidisciplinary team of designers and engineers. The fast-paced work environment allows team members to work on a variety of projects. Responsibilities:

Contribute to the design and delivery of a variety of projects that occur concurrently often.
Take ownership of medium to large sized design and production packages under the supervision of the Design/Project Manager.
– Organizing presentations for the client and developing them graphically.
Work on a program of deliverables and advise senior staff on any issues that may affect delivery.
Work within agreed design criteria and standards with senior staff.
Ensure the quality of outputs that meet the expectations of senior staff.
Work within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
Carrying out technical coordination with other disciplines.

requirements

Postgraduate qualification degree in urban design, landscape architecture for urban planning, or a related field preferably with a professional affiliation (or membership qualification)
Candidates ideally have a minimum of 8-10 years relevant work experience in urban design, urban planning and master planning
Lead the production of high quality urban planning, design and planning projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Middle East and Africa.
Lead in the preparation of technical bids and fee proposals for master planning, urban design projects and other major infrastructure projects as and when required.
Strong design and graphics capabilities and the ability to communicate ideas via various visual and graphics media including computer and hand graphics
Fully conversant with Adobe Creative Suite with demonstrable graphics and visual skills
– Specialized in PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD
Experience working with a multidisciplinary team desirable
– Strong design management, report production and coordination skills
Understanding of sustainability issues in the public domain. (LEED or similar experience and feature)
– Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
Able to work on personal initiative or as part of a larger multidisciplinary team
Have a logical and structured approach to project delivery of project deliverables
Will be required to travel within the Middle East region for projects in a variety of geographic locations, including Saudi Arabia
– Develop and maintain relationships with clients and attend meetings, workshops and seminars
Other duties associated with the main role and responsibilities will be requested from time to time
