Senior HSE Engineer | Job in Doha, Qatar by Parsons International | GulfTalent

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Advise and assist the Senior Construction Site Representative in establishing and managing ESHARP’s management and Parsons SH&E operations, and identifying and removing/controlling any risks to people and property.
• Advise and supervise contractors on a wide range of safety and health risk prevention and enforcement for contractors and project personnel on sites.
• Audit and inspect the job site to detect and correct safety hazards.
• Supervising the first aid staff in providing first aid to injured or sick workers professionally.
• Auditing work accident records and preparing a periodic audit report for these records.
• Initiate accident investigations and prepare work accident reports.
• Representing management during job site safety inspections by regulatory authorities or company insurance companies.
• Receive, review and distribute safety inspection reports with recommended corrective actions.
• Provide oversight for the new safety orientation process and other safety related trainings.
• Conducts risk assessments for future work and provides technical assistance to the safety planning process.
• Coordinate closely with the client’s Quality, Health and Safety Department on safety and reporting requirements to minimize construction downtime on site.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as required.

Experience and qualifications:

• At least 15 years of experience, including 7 years in similar surface and ground water networks projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Health and Safety / Environmental Management
• Membership of an internationally recognized safety association, such as NEBOSH, etc.
• Holds a valid certificate in first aid / risk assessment (entry into confined spaces, facilities and underground works).
• Must demonstrate knowledge of HSE regulations, requirements of construction projects and awareness of all potential risks to existing construction sites. Training in confined spaces is required, up-to-date engineering knowledge proven through continuous training especially regarding HSE issues
• Must possess leadership skills to manage and motivate a team of health and safety inspectors.
• Proactive acumen and ability to manage multiple work areas on site are essential.
