WSP Middle East is currently looking for a Senior Engineer (Drainage) to be responsible for managing the engineering activities of the delivery areas to ensure that objectives are achieved and progress is made on projects managed by the Public Works Authority.
Your new role, what is your role?
* Provide support to Area Delivery Managers when required based on engineering
* Submitting periodic reports on the progress of work and submitting cases to the authority
* Managing the day-to-day operational aspects and contracts of projects
* Be responsible for providing feedback regarding project progress, deviations and changes and ensuring that projects are delivered as per Ashghal standards
* Site handover (site acquisition), pre-contract meeting (start-up), ROs and approvals formally to consultant
* Monitor (after contacting the traffic unit) traffic diversions and ensure they are efficient and safe
* Ensure that the quality control, safety plan is compliant with QCS and Ashghal
* Selection and coordination with the quality department
* Review deliverables across projects, minimizing exposure and risk
* Manage scope and achieve project goals, address issues quickly
* Ensure timely delivery (delivery) of the project
* Approval of the progress of claims submitted by consultants and contractors
* Preparing and submitting reports to senior management on the status of work progress
* Periodically inspect construction sites to ensure that they conform to design specifications and adhere to quality
* Interpret, explain and implement regulations and policies, and consult with construction regarding potential changes to plans and problem solving
* Ensure that consultants and contractors provide regular reports on damages, accidents, delays, bad weather or emergencies
* Encouraging contractors to observe applicable safety rules and regulations; Determines corrective actions and agrees with consultants and contractors
* Monitor and resolve issues such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems
* Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all project participants
* Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and administrative aspects of projects
* Key team, project progress, technical and coordination meetings
* Managing and reviewing the performance of various engineering consultants and contractors
* Reviewing and recommending different designs throughout the life of the project
* Application of international design standards in various projects
We would love to hear from you if you have:
* bachelor of Civil Engineering
* 15 years of postgraduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes; Preference will be given to exchange-related experience
* Experience working with and within government agencies or the client side in general at a senior level
Demonstrable track record of delivering large multidisciplinary projects
* In-depth knowledge of engineering procedures
* Strong experience in designing rainwater drainage networks and flood protection measures
* Experience in construction and project management for sanitation projects involving wastewater and/or groundwater drainage networks, sewage pumping stations and rising main trains
Demonstrable experience in handling cases of third parties, authority clients, legal contractors, and other affected stakeholders, as required
Experience in managing all aspects of design and construction contracts
