Manama, March 4 (BNA) Public Security Chief Lieutenant-General Tariq Al-Hassan chaired the Bahraini side in the second session of the Strategic Security Dialogue with the United States.
While the US side was led by Christopher A., Deputy Crisis Response Coordinator and Technology in the State Department’s Office of Counterterrorism.
Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United States Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of Customs Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Center for Cyber Security, representatives of various directorates of the Ministry of Interior, in addition to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the US Department of Justice. The virtual meeting was attended by Bruce C. Schwartz, US Ambassador Stephen C. Bundy and some US officials.
The leader praised the strong historical relations between the two friendly countries, highlighting the importance of joint efforts to combat terrorism through the exchange of expertise and experience.
He valued the directives of the Minister of Interior, Major General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and his continuous support to enhance efficiency and capabilities through the development of training, modern technology and openness to the experiences of developed countries.
His Excellency commended the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in protecting security and stability and developing plans and techniques to confront the regional and international security development. He briefed the audience on Bahrain’s achievements in combating money laundering and terrorist financing. He stressed that the dialogue represents a continuation of providing high-quality security services and achieving the objectives of police work.
Meanwhile, Landberg expressed his thanks and appreciation to Bahrain for its dedication to promoting joint efforts in common areas.
The session reviewed the latest security developments within the memoranda of understanding and signed agreements.
