Second Bahraini-Qatari Follow-up Committee meeting held at GCC General Secretariat

Riyadh, April 12 (BNA): The Bahraini-Qatari Follow-up Committee held its second meeting at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Bahraini delegation was headed by the Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, while the Qatari delegation was headed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al Hammadi.

The meeting discussed the topics on the agenda, and reviewed the results of the first meeting of the Joint Legal Committee and the Joint Security Committee.

It was decided to resume diplomatic relations between the two countries in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter and the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.

The two sides affirmed that this decision stems from the common desire to develop bilateral relations and promote Gulf integration and unity in line with the objectives of the Statute of the Cooperation Council, and respect for the principles of equality between states, national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. And good neighborliness.
