Manama, September 25 (BNA) The Chairman of the Sustainable Energy Authority, Dr. Abdul-Hussein bin Ali Mirza, on the sidelines of the 76th United Nations General Assembly, delivered the Kingdom’s speech at the United Nations High-level Dialogue. on energy.
Heads of State, Prime Ministers and Ministers from all over the world participated in the Eminent Persons Dialogue. In his inaugural address, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called on state leaders to triple investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency by five times to reduce carbon emissions harmful to the environment and people’s health.
Dr. Mirza conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his wishes for success for the session. He affirmed the Kingdom’s keenness to enhance its international role to achieve sustainable development goals and fulfill its regional and international obligations mainly related to the energy field.
Dr. Mirza highlighted Bahrain’s steps in achieving its national energy goals. He also reviewed the latest developments in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, pointing to cooperation with the United Nations Development Program.
