SCW Secretary-General receives Woodrow Wilson Centre delegation

Manama, November 14 (BNA) The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Al-Ansari, received the President of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Ambassador Mark Green and other senior researchers. She welcomed the delegation, praising the center’s interest in studying the Bahrain experience.

Sheikha Dina bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, briefed the delegation on the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women.

The meeting also highlighted Bahrain’s initiatives to narrow the gender gap in national development. In 2018, the Cabinet approved the National Gender Balance Report to measure the impact of policies aimed at promoting gender balance in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Ambassador Green also welcomed the cooperation and partnership with the Supreme Council for Women, praising its role in promoting the advancement of Bahraini women and integrating women’s needs into national development programs.

He stressed the importance of joint cooperation to highlight success stories and shed light on the reality of women in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He praised Bahrain’s model in enhancing the status of women, taking into account the specificity of the Kingdom and its regional and international steps.
