SCW Secretary General receives Sonia Janahi

Manama, November 29 (BNA) The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women received Mrs. Hala Al-Ansari, member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sonia Janahi. I renewed my congratulations to her on her undisputed election as an alternate member of the ILO Governing Body, in the category “Employers Group”, representing West Asian countries. Ms. Janahi is the first Arab businesswoman to hold this position since the establishment of the International Labor Organization.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women also congratulated her on her appointment as a member of the Arab Women’s Affairs Committee of the Arab Labor Organization for the period 2021-2023. She praised her efforts during her work as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, praising her long experience in the field of entrepreneurship.

Mrs. Janahi expressed her appreciation for the pioneering role of the Supreme Council for Women under the presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the consort of His Majesty the King. She praised the council’s tireless efforts to ensure the sustainability of women’s progress and maximize their participation in the development process in the Kingdom.
