SCH President receives World Bank delegation

Manama, October 8 (BNA) The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant-General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Khalifa, and thanks for the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to provide the best health care services to all members of society in Bahrain.

The Chairman of the Council made these statements during his reception here in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Walid Al-Manea, the Regional Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council at the World Bank, Issam Abu Suleiman, and the accompanying delegation. .

The meeting aims to discuss ways to enhance the ongoing cooperation between the two sides within the framework of the World Bank’s delegation’s visit to the Kingdom.

Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah praised the fruitful role of the World Bank and the advanced level of cooperation that contributed to the success of many health plans, projects and programs.

He stressed the importance of continuing close cooperation with the World Bank, praising the results of the World Bank’s cooperation with the Kingdom in the health fields, and its prominent role in enhancing global development knowledge and expertise.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health highlighted the National Health Insurance Program (Sehati) in Bahrain, which aims to provide the health requirements of citizens and residents and achieve comprehensive health coverage in the Kingdom by providing integrated, sustainable and high-quality health services using available resources.

He also referred to the “Choose Your Doctor” program, which falls under the umbrella of the National Health Insurance Program and is implemented in primary health care centers within the self-management project, praising the level of services provided in the primary health care sector. in the Kingdom and emphasizing the importance of promoting and advancing the sustainability of health services.

The World Bank Regional Director praised Bahrain’s pioneering and exemplary experience in combating the Covid-19 pandemic at the level of national health initiatives, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for the warm reception and hospitality.

Issam Abu Suleiman wished all health sectors in the Kingdom continued success in implementing comprehensive development plans, as well as in continuing joint cooperation and coordination to achieve health and development goals to the fullest.

He stressed the keenness of the World Bank Group to enhance its continuous cooperation with the Supreme Council of Health and all health sectors in the Kingdom in all areas related to health.
