SCH President opens 3rd NHRA Conference, Exhibition

Manama, June 3 (BNA): The President of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, inaugurated the event today, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan. The third conference and exhibition of the National Authority for Regulating the Health Sector, which was held at the Diplomat Hotel.


Employees of the health sector in the Kingdom, in addition to heads and officials of health authorities in the GCC countries, as well as partners, participated in the three-day event, sponsored by the Labor Fund (Tamkeen). .

In his speech at the opening ceremony, the Council Chairman expressed his pride in the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the medical sector in the Kingdom.


He also expressed his happiness at sponsoring the conference, in which senior decision-makers and those affiliated with the health sector participate, indicating that the conference is taking place amid the challenges facing the organization of the sector, which requires concerted efforts to achieve it. Common goals.


Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah congratulated the authority on the recognition by the International Society for Health Care Quality (ISQua) of the authority’s accreditation standards for hospitals and medical centers.


He also congratulated the CEO of the authority, Maryam Athbi Al-Jalahma, on receiving the Nelson Mandela Award for Health Promotion from the World Health Organization.

The Chairman of the Council affirmed that the conference provides an important platform for health sector partners to discuss regulatory issues and required standards, in light of the continuous efforts to implement the National Social Health Insurance Program (My Health), indicating that the conference will contribute to achieving common goals for developing the health sector and improving the services it provides.


The CEO of the authority indicated that the importance of the conference is steadily increasing due to its role in enhancing coordination and cooperation between local and international health authorities.


She added that it provides a platform to discuss ways to develop health education and training, review the challenges facing the medical sector, discover investment opportunities, and enhance the Kingdom’s cooperation with other countries in the fields of health care.
