Saudi Aramco blue hydrogen production unchanged

Dhahran, May 11 (BNA) Saudi Aramco has denied allegations that it will stop its plans to produce blue ammonia, a blue hydrogen carrier, by 2030.

Aramco confirmed, in a statement, that its plan to produce 11 million tons of blue ammonia, a carrier of blue hydrogen, by 2030 will remain unchanged, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Aramco has stated that it will continue to work with potential customers and other stakeholders around the world, making real progress across the blue hydrogen value chain.

The statement added that this includes obtaining the world’s first independent certification from the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) for the production of blue ammonia and blue hydrogen, in addition to the delivery of three shipments of blue ammonia to customers in Asia.
