Royal Court Minister receives NIHR tenth annual report


Manama, May 28 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, commissioned by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received President of the Royal Court, Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, President of the National Institution for Human Rights, who presented him with the tenth annual report of the institution.

The minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the National Institution for Human Rights in promoting and protecting human rights in the Kingdom in accordance with the principles of human rights contained in the National Action Charter, the Constitution, and relevant laws and legislation, in addition to international and regional legislation. Regional agreements and treaties of which Bahrain is a part.

The report highlighted the efforts and activities of the institution in protecting and promoting human rights in general, in addition to the advisory opinions submitted by the National Institution for Human Rights to the constitutional authorities.

The President expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King for his constant patronage of human rights and his directives to make more efforts to advance, protect and enhance the human rights system to meet expectations and enhance the Kingdom’s position among developed countries in this field.
