Royal care for Bahrain youth praised

Manama, August 11 (BNA): Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Center for International, Strategic and Energy Studies (Dirasat), is taking the steps of His Majesty the King.

He said: “Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, places youth among its national priorities, as they represent a key partner in implementing the sustainable development goals.”

This came in a statement made by Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, as Bahrain joins other countries in celebrating tomorrow, August 12, the International Youth Day, which will be held this year under the slogan “solidarity between generations.”

He praised the directives and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to promote youth empowerment and support their role in national development.

He praised the role played by His Majesty the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs in the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

He also praised the First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

“This year’s theme highlights the world’s need to benefit from the capabilities available to all generations,” he said, noting that human solidarity is the locomotive for sustainable development.

He stressed Bahrain’s steps as a pioneering and inspiring model in devoting close cooperation with international institutions and organizations, particularly the United Nations, in order to enhance youth participation and their participation in achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
