Ronaldo left out of Man United squad for Chelsea match

London, October 20 / BNA / Manchester United announced today, Thursday, the exclusion of Cristiano Ronaldo from the Manchester United squad to face Chelsea, after the Portuguese international withdrew from the 2-0 victory over Tottenham before the final whistle.

United boss Eric ten Hag said after Wednesday’s departure from Old Trafford that he would “deal” with Ronaldo the next day, according to the Associated Press.

“Cristiano will not be in the Manchester United squad for Saturday’s match against Chelsea,” United said in a statement on Thursday. “The rest of the team is completely focused on preparing for that match.”

United said they fully supported the decision taken by Ten Hag.

Ronaldo headed to the changing room after leaving an unused substitute in the match. I let Ten Hag ask questions about the incident on one of the nights United put in their best performance of the season.

“I don’t care today,” the Dutch coach said after the match. “We’re dealing with that tomorrow. I want to stay focused on this team. It was a great performance from all 11 players.”
