Rihanna to headline the next Super Bowl halftime show

NEW YORK, Sept. 26 (US): Rihanna will take center stage at the Super Bowl halftime show in February.

The National Football League announced Sunday that the singer, who declined to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, will headline Super Bowl 2023, along with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and Apple Music.

Rihanna posted a photo on Instagram of an outstretched arm holding an NFL soccer ball.

“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman with humble beginnings who has exceeded expectations at every turn,” Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation company serves as the show’s executive producer, said in a statement.

“Someone who was born on the small island of Barbados and has become one of the most remarkable artists of all time. Self-made in business and entertainment.”

The Associated Press (AP) reports that the Super Bowl will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12.

After years of sponsoring Pepsi, the upcoming halftime show will be sponsored by Apple Music.

Rihanna said earlier that she turned down a similar opportunity for the 2019 Super Bowl which was eventually themed Maroon 5.
