Main Job Duties, Duties and Responsibilities
• Greeting customers
• Knowing the customer’s needs
• Recommending, identifying and assisting in locating the correct merchandise
• Describe the product’s features and benefits
• Explanation of the use and operation of the product
• Answer customer inquiries regarding the store and merchandise
• Provide suggestions and encourage the purchase of products
• Provide information about warranties, specifications for manufacture, care and maintenance of merchandise and delivery options
• Provide information about available funding
• Receive and process cash, check and charge/credit payments
• Submit change and receipts
• Purchasing bags or parcels
• Gift wrapping items
• Count money and sort shipping vouchers and balance money
• Maintain records of sales
• Place special orders
• Organizing the exchange of goods
• The process of repairing or changing goods
• Stay up to date on sale prices
• Recognize and monitor security issues
• Arrange and display merchandise
• Keep the goods area tidy
• Stocktaking
• New stock order
Education and experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Familiarity with customer service principles and processes
• Knowledge of sales principles
• Product related knowledge and training
• Experience in a retail, customer service or sales environment
• Basic knowledge of business management
