Representatives Council Services Committee holds meeting

Manama, March 6 (BNA) The Parliament Services Committee held its twentieth meeting today in the fourth regular annual session of the fifth legislative term headed by Representative Ahmed Al-Ansari and in the presence of the members of the committee.

In its meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Information and representatives of the Bahraini Journalists Association, the committee discussed a draft law amending some provisions of Decree-Law No. (47) for the year 2002 regarding the regulation of the press, printing and publishing. Accompanying Decree No. (77) of 2021.

During the meeting, the opinion of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee and the visions of the Ministry of Information, the National Institution for Human Rights, BJA newspaper and Al-Ayyam newspaper were highlighted.

MP Ahmad Al-Ansari said that the committee agreed with the government on the draft law, and also listened to the proposals of the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate and decided to postpone the matter to study these proposals.
