Registration for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination to begin for children aged 5 to 11

Manama, January 18 (BNA): The Ministry of Health announced today the opening of registration for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years, starting from Wednesday, January 19, 2022, coinciding with the arrival of the first shipment of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine. Vaccines specified for this age group.

The ministry stressed the importance of vaccination, especially for children, to protect them, their families and society.

The Ministry of Health has urged all parents who wish to vaccinate their children to register them via the BeAware app or the ministry’s website: healthalert.gov.bh.

The ministry indicated that the vaccine will be administered at the vaccination center in the Sitra complex. Registration for the vaccine requires the consent of a legal guardian. Children must also be accompanied by an adult when receiving the vaccination.

The Ministry stressed that vaccination is critical to achieving community immunity and enhances the success of the efforts made by the National Medical Task Force to combat the Coronavirus (Covid-19) to maintain public health.
