Regional Procurement Manager – META | Job in Cairo, Egypt by NTS Group | GulfTalent

NTS Group is working with a leading multinational pharmaceutical company to recruit a Regional Procurement Manager, META. The position is based in Cairo, Egypt and will report directly to the Regional Head of Procurement. The role will be responsible for sourcing indirect procurement activities for the META region.

responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and directs the work of purchasing supplies, materials, equipment and services, and sets goals, objectives and performance standards for procurement activities.
• Develop, implement, evaluate and modify procurement policies and procedures. Interpret and apply policies, laws, and regulations regarding government procurement and property disposal practices to ensure compliance.
• Analyze performance and workload data to develop and implement procedural changes, new methods or automated systems as appropriate, in order to increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of procurement programmes.
• Participate in the preparation and control of the department’s budget.
• Consult with all departments to determine purchasing needs, legal requirements and product specifications, and share information on cost, availability, vendor qualifications, and current technology.
• Develop unified specifications for the purchase of goods used by many departments.
• Directing publicity, opening and receiving bids, and making prizes.
• Reviewing bids, contracts and purchase orders.
• Ensure that appropriate documents and records are maintained.
• Research market conditions and new products.
• Negotiate with vendors regarding purchase requirements, prices, trade discounts, cash and deliveries, develop existing products and submit bids and quotations for purchases.
• Investigate and resolve complaints from departments about products and services and from vendors regarding payments.
• Create a quarterly report to analyze and simplify the data.
• Evaluation and evaluation of suppliers (semi-annual).

Education, skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2-3 years experience in a similar role preferred.
• CIPS or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Postgraduate studies an added advantage.
• Pharma business background.
• Knowledge of the category management process and its practical applications.
• Knowledge of contract negotiations and management.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High level of intellectual curiosity, intrinsic motivation to solve difficult issues, and constant search for ways to improve.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Fluency in French (spoken and written) is a plus.
