RCSI Bahrain, Keele University launch nursing program


Manama, October 16 / BNA / The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain and Keele University launched the Nursing Student Exchange Program under the auspices of the Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council (HEC) and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, Dr. Sheikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa .

Nursing students from the two universities will visit each other’s campuses to participate in learning and teaching activities and attend clinical observers at local healthcare facilities.

“To enhance healthcare in Bahrain and beyond, it is critical that nursing students experience a variety of interactions with patients, the relationships between professionals and healthcare environments. Nurses play a vital role in the delivery of primary and community care, and their understanding of patient care in an international context is key to developing current practices. “. The president of the Royal College of Surgeons in Bahrain, Professor Samir Al-Atoum, said.

He thanked Dr. Sheikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa for her sponsorship and support for this partnership, as developing future professionals with the necessary skills in Bahrain to build a knowledge-based economy is part of the strategic plan of the Supreme Election Committee, in line with the state’s goals under the National Vision 2030.

“It is important to prepare graduates to be able to keep pace with global developments in their field of knowledge so that our workforce is ready to meet the current and future needs of society,” said the Secretary-General of the Supreme Elections Committee.
