London, September 8 (BUS): Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and a rock of stability in a turbulent era for her country and the world, passed away after 70 years on the throne. She was 96 years old.

US President Joe Biden described her as “a stateswoman of unparalleled dignity and fortitude that has deepened the enduring alliance between the United Kingdom and the United States.”
