Manama, May 10 (BNA) The Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, Lieutenant-General Tariq Al-Hassan, met with the representative of the British Cabinet and emergency strategic planning expert David Russell Parson.
Representatives of the College of Emergency Planning and the Director General of Civil Defense, Brigadier Ali Al-Hati, attended.
Lieutenant General. Al-Hassan explained that the meeting came within the framework of the Minister of Interior’s directives to develop the capabilities of the national civil protection.
He said that the meeting aims to review cooperation in the field of civil protection, national planning, response, emergency and disaster recovery.
The President praised the cooperation and coordination with the college that has been going on since 2005 and the development that has been achieved in this regard in accordance with the strategy set by the Minister of Interior.
The meeting reviewed a memorandum of cooperation between the two sides to exchange experiences, training and advisory services in the field of civil protection to enhance public safety. He was also briefed on training programs, including the technical aspects of civil protection.
